Your appointment

  • by phone
  • face to face at the surgery

Appointments by phone can be more flexible and often means the doctor or nurse can help you sooner.

Cancelling or changing an appointment

  • Telephone the surgery as soon as possible on 020 8204 2255, and at least 30 minutes before your appointment time
  • Let us know online (at least 30 minutes before your appointment time)

Cancellations notified less than 30 minutes before the appointment time will be recorded as failure to attend (DNA).

Repeated failure to attend booked appointments is a significant waste of NHS resources.

Home visits

If you are too ill to come to the surgery you may need to request a home visits, but please remember these are intended for the housebound, bed-bound, terminally ill patients or those whose condition will deteriorate with travel.

If you feel too ill to wait in the waiting room please let the receptionist know and we can arrange for you to sit in another area.

The best care can often be given at the surgery, but If you still think you need a home visit telephone the surgery preferably before 10:30am. The receptionist will need to take some details about what is wrong so that more urgent calls can be given priority.

Extended access

Our Primary Care Networks are working together and are able to provide more appointment hours to patients across NW London.

The changes mean that locally practices are able to provide more appointments during the hours that best suit patients. This includes evening and weekend appointments.

Patients can book by contacting the practice during working our hours hours.

Evening and weekend appointments may take place by phone, video, or face-to-face depending on clinical need. Patients may be offered an appointment at their GP practice, another local GP practice or another local NHS service.

These changes mean we can provide more appointments for patients when they most need them.

Appointments are available in the evening and at weekends on Saturday – please call the practice on 020 8204 2255 to book an appointment.

If it’s not urgent you can also use the online consultation form on the practice website, which will be responded in practice hours.

You may be offered an appointment at your own GP practice, another local GP practice or another local NHS service. This is because we are working with other local GP practices to provide these appointments – our practice is part of a small group of practices called a Primary Care Network. Working together means we can provide more local services to you.

Our new evening and weekend opening times will be:

  • Kenton Clinic’s new Extended Hours will be Wednesday evenings 6.30pm to 8.00pm
  • Saturday Clinic will be in rotation with other group of practices every 7th week

GP access centres

GP Access Centres provide additional clinical times, during a period when there are considerable pressures on your GP practice. This service enables patients to receive timely access to primary care services in in their locality, but not necessarily at their usual GP practice.

These Access Centres enable GP practices to direct patients to a local practice that is open during evenings and weekends, in order to achieve 08:00hrs – 20:00hrs access to primary care.

Access appointments can be booked via the practice or by calling NHS 111.

The GP Access Centre is located at:

Alexandra Avenue Health Centre
275 Alexandra Ave
Harrow
HA2 9DX
